“This is a new low in House Republicans’ failure to govern. Instead of doing anything to address rising housing costs, raise the minimum wage, tackle child poverty or address the opioid crisis, Republicans have threatened to the plunge the nation into default and are now once again pushing the government to the brink of a shutdown. It’s no wonder this Congress has been the least productive in decades.

WASHINGTON–Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), along with one-hundred and twelve members of Congress, are calling on the Biden Administration to implement an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) workplace heat standard as quickly as possible.

The members released a letter  urging the “fastest possible implementation… given the dire threat to the lives of workers exposed to extreme heat.”

"While I strongly agree with explicitly and affirmatively rejecting xenophobia and antisemitism, conflating antisemitism with criticism of the Israeli government is wrong.

MINNEAPOLIS—Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) released the following statement following Russia's termination of the Black Sea grain deal.

“Russia’s termination of the Black Sea grain deal with Ukraine will lead to humanitarian catastrophe. By terminating this deal, Putin is effectively plunging millions around the world into famine and starvation.

“Ukraine accounts for 10% of the world wheat market, 15% of the corn market, and 13% of the barley market.
