WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) introduced the Shrinkflation Reduction Act, aimed at enhancing pricing transparency for consumers and combating the deceptive practice of shrinkflation.

Shrinkflation, the practice of reducing a product's size or quantity while maintaining or increasing its price, has become a widespread pricing strategy. This tactic allows companies to pass on increased costs to consumers without overtly raising listed prices, taking advantage of consumers' lower sensitivity to changes in size and quality compared to price changes.

WASHINGTON– Today, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) delivered a floor speech highlighting the impact of the PACT Act and urging more Minnesota veterans to enroll in the program. The PACT Act, passed two years ago, addresses severe health problems faced by veterans due to toxic exposures during their service.
