WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) introduced the Shrinkflation Reduction Act, aimed at enhancing pricing transparency for consumers and combating the deceptive practice of shrinkflation.
Shrinkflation, the practice of reducing a product's size or quantity while maintaining or increasing its price, has become a widespread pricing strategy. This tactic allows companies to pass on increased costs to consumers without overtly raising listed prices, taking advantage of consumers' lower sensitivity to changes in size and quality compared to price changes.
WASHINGTON—Reps Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) today introduced a resolution to support the goals and ideals of World Drowning Prevention Day. This resolution will also encourage intergovernmental cooperation to develop new drowning prevention policies.
