WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tina Smith (D-MN) and Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded $20,004,000 in federal funding for the City of Minneapolis to implement its Vision Zero Action Plan. The Plan addresses the three leading causes of severe and fatal traffic accidents in Minneapolis: speeding, left-turn conflicts, and red-light running.

"I voted no on H. Res. 894. This extreme and cynical Republican resolution does nothing to combat antisemitism, relies on a definition that conflates criticism of the Israeli government with antisemitism, paints critics of the Israeli government as antisemites and falsely states that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.

"We must stand against any attempt to define legitimate criticism of this war and the government perpetrating it as antisemitism. I am proud to join fellow Democrats in opposing this wrongheaded resolution."

WASHINGTON—Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-CA) led a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken today seeking additional information about U.S. strategies for atrocity prevention and justice in Sudan. The signers specifically ask the status of the Department’s efforts to make atrocity determinations and its impact on U.S. policy.

WASHINGTON—Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) introduced a joint resolution of disapproval today for the proposed export license for $320 million in Spice Family Guided Bomb Assemblies to Israel. These weapons have already been used in the siege on Gaza, which has taken the lives of over 4,000 children and over 11,000 civilians, making it the deadliest conflict for children this decade. The United Nations and human rights experts around the world have condemned the bombing of hospitals and schools as crimes against humanity and called for the prevention of genocide.
