“I voted NO on HRes 1449 because the bill endorses the harmful definition of IHRA that dangerously conflates legitimate criticism of Israel to antisemitism and further harms our ability to address antisemitism. I condemn antisemitism unequivocally, however this resolution does nothing to combat antisemitism. I will continue to stand against any attempt to silence genuine concerns of the Israeli government as antisemitism.”

Omar joined a letter to President Biden, led by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) and Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-01), questioning the involvement of the U.S. Armed Forces in the Israeli government’s expanding regional war across the Middle East, including in the ground invasions of Lebanon and Gaza, and the recent exchanges of hostilities between Israel and Iran.

WASHINGTON– Today, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) introduced the Long Covid Research Moonshot Act which would provide the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with $1 billion in mandatory funding per year for a decade to support studies, the pursuit of treatments, and the expansion of care for U.S. patients impacted by the condition. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) introduced companion legislation last month.
