WASHINGTON -The House passed an amendment to H.R. 3494, the Intelligence Authorization Act authored by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) regarding the Terrorist Screening Database. The Terrorist Screening Database (TSBD) or the "terror watchlist" is currently being shared with multiple foreign governments, including countries with appalling human rights records. The standard for adding people to the list is very low, and the vast majority of people on the list have never been charged with any crime.

WASHINGTON – Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) issued the following statement after an airstrike on a migrant detention center in Libya killed more than 40 people:

"Attacking innocent migrants who are seeking a better life is nothing less than a war crime. I urge the U.S. to support an independent inquiry into who was responsible for this horrific crime. Migrants and refugees should be protected, not arbitrarily detained or subjected to violent attacks.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) unveiled landmark legislation today to eliminate tuition and fees at all public four-year colleges and universities, as well as make community colleges, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs tuition- and fee-free for all. The three lawmakers' proposal also eliminates all $1.6 trillion in student debt for 45 million Americans.
