Greater Than Fear: Community Conversation on Combating Hate

Thursday, February 20, 2020 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Join Congresswoman Omar for a Community Conversation on combating hate.

One of the central questions posed to us right now is, "who is included in being Minnesotan?" Will we be a state where everyone - whether we are white, black, or brown - can live a life of dignity with good schools, healthcare, and affordable childcare? Right now, some politicians are trying to divide us up by saying some people aren't Minnesotans because of where we were born, how we pray, or where in the state we live. It is an attempt to make our democracy smaller and to consolidate power so they can give tax breaks to their donors and cut healthcare for millions. However, we know as Minnesotans that we will push the car out of the snow and take care of our neighbors. Join us for a conversation with community leaders. Let’s come together and state clearly: Minnesota is for everyone. Featured speakers include:

- Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, MN-05
- Dr. Jeremy Myers, Augsburg University Religion Department
- Jaylani Hussein, Center for American-Islamic Relations
- Monica Meyer, OutFront Minnesota
