Readout of Rep. Omar’s Meeting with Burma’s Deputy Union Minister for Human Rights

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar met with Aung Kyaw Moe, the Deputy Union Minister for Human Rights in Burma’s National Unity Government. They discussed the need for greater international recognition for the National Unity Government, international efforts to recognize and seek justice for the Rohingya genocide, and ways the United States can support those efforts. Congresswoman Omar reiterated her strong support for the cases before both the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
